Gila River and Mama Receives An Emmy Nomination

Gila River & Mama: The Ruth Mix Story, has been nominated for the 41st Annual Northern California Area Emmy Awards under the category of historical/cultural documentary.

The 41st Annual Northern California Area EMMY® Award Nominations were announced Wednesday, May 9th at noon on the internet. The EMMY® award is presented for outstanding achievement in television by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

This year 621 English and 114 Spanish entries were received in 59 categories. A minimum of five peer judges from other NATAS chapters scored each entry on a scale from 1 to 10 on Content, Creativity and Execution. (Craft categories were judged on Creativity and Execution only).

The Emmy® statuettes will be presented at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square on Saturday, June 9, 2012. [website]
